GLOOMY FATE is a landmark epic poem 35 years in the making (1984–2019) — a rare, towering work of literary art from one of America's most extraordinary voices.

Born into war, orphaned at three months old during the Nigerian-Biafra conflict (1967–1970), and self-educated without special support for 12 years in mainstream schools, Charles Awusin Inko-Tariah defied every force fate placed against him. Deaf and blind, he taught himself 99% through trial and error, worked at the renowned French bank Société Générale in Lagos, and studied at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC — before enduring 25 years of unjust confinement (1994–2018).
